Symphony of Spring: A Bloomin' Fundraiser
Greeley Philharmonic Guild Launches Spring Fundraiser
Greeley, CO – In harmony with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra since 1972, the Greeley Philharmonic Guild is an organization dedicated to fundraising for the orchestra while providing educational and music activities centered on music and the arts.
During a time of virtual events, canceled concerts, and Zoom meetings, the Guild presents its inaugural Symphony of Spring: A Bloomin’ Fundraiser to benefit the GPO. Preparing for the return to the concert hall, the GPO is determined to create a path to recovery for its exceptional orchestral performances. Purchase your garden tomatoes or adorn your home with stunning hanging baskets while helping to keep the music playing in our community.
Visit gpoguild.org/bloom to order your petunias, tomatoes, and other varieties of hanging plants. Orders will be accepted through April 15, 2021 and may be picked up at Sears Real Estate on Saturday, May 8th from 12-4 pm, or Sunday, May 9th from 1-5 pm. Orders of 10 plants or more will be delivered to your door.
Information about this fundraiser, and about the Guild, may be found by visiting gpoguild.org.
About the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra
Founded in 1911, the GPO is the oldest continually operated professional orchestra west of the Mississippi River. The organization provides the highest degree of music and cultural enrichment in Northern Colorado. Education initiatives continue to engage and inspire youth, promoting an interest in classical music. All musicians have auditioned and been contracted by the GPO. Over 70% of the GPO’s orchestra members hold a master’s degree or higher, and many have made successful careers performing for the GPO and other professional orchestras throughout the Front Range and beyond.
Concerts feature repertoire spanning hundreds of years, showcasing composers from across the globe. The GPO is invested in the future of orchestral music and its relevance in its community, presenting annual Fifth Grade concerts, outreach to schools, side-by-side coaching sessions, a Junior Ambassador program, and now a youth orchestra.
