Greeley Holiday Tradition "Poinsettia Pops" Returns December 2nd
The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra is thrilled to announce its upcoming holiday concert, "Poinsettia Pops," scheduled to take place on December 2nd at the Union Colony Civic Center. Prepare for an enchanting celebration of Christmas tradition on the poinsettia adorned Monfort Concert Hall stage.
"Poinsettia Pops" will feature the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Lowell Graham, showcasing a selection of timeless holiday classics in collaboration with the Greeley Chorale and Greeley Children's Chorale. From carols to beloved seasonal melodies, the concert will capture the spirit of the holidays and leave attendees filled with joy and goodwill.
Opening the concert will be the semi-annual Magic Baton Melody Contest presented by Composer-in-Residence, Dylan Fixmer, in collaboration with Greeley/Evans School District 6. This competition showcases a middle school student's composition, now orchestrated for the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. This winter’s winning composer is Warren Waters from Chappelow K-8.
Purchased tickets gain admission to the final night of the Festival of Trees. This display of beautifully decorated trees will be presented in the Union Colony Civic Center lobby from November 24th to December 2nd. The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra encourages attendees to come early and enjoy pre-concert festivities, including the Festival of Trees display and a meet-and-greet with Santa! The lobby opens at 6:00 pm and the concert will begin at 7:00 pm.
