GPYO Presents a Free Concert April 13th
Greeley, CO – March 25, 2024 – The Greeley Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (GPYO) is thrilled to announce its free concert on April 13th! While the GPYO performed with a small ensemble at the United Way Children's Festival, this is the first stage performance of a GPO youth chamber ensemble in more than 50 years! The GPYO will showcase the remarkable abilities of young musicians from across the region under the baton of esteemed music educator Doran Azari.
The first Greeley Philharmonic Junior Orchestra was founded in 1947. In 2021, the GPYO was re-launched through a collaboration of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, faculty at the University of Northern Colorado’s School of Music, and our regional orchestra educator community.
The GPYO is not just an orchestra; it's a supportive community where young musicians refine their skills, learn professional etiquette, rehearsal techniques, and cultivate lasting friendships—all while upholding the highest musical standards.
This performance will feature Vivaldi’s Spring. The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra’s co-concertmaster Sarah Whitnah will perform as the violin soloist alongside the GPYO.
Join us as we applaud the next generation of musical leaders!
