GPO Announces New Executive Director
The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, a professional symphony orchestra, performing in Greeley, CO since 1911, and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce the promotion of Nicholas Kenny to Executive Director effective January 1, 2018. Nick has served as Interim Executive Director since July 2017.
As Interim Executive Director Nick has demonstrated great leadership and passion for the organization’s mission. The Board of Directors of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra is very excited to begin this new era with Nick as Executive Director.
“Music has, and continues to be, an important component to my life. I am humbled to uphold the GPO’s longstanding tradition of providing quality music to our community, and look forward to what our orchestra will bring to Northern Colorado in the coming years,” said Mr. Kenny. “We may be an old orchestra, but we’ve got a new attitude!”
Nicholas Kenny was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN, where music quickly became his passion. Nick excelled as a trumpeter and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Manchester University before moving to Greeley to pursue his graduate studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Nick holds a Master of Music Degree in Music Education from UNC and has a successful private trumpet studio in Northern Colorado. As a freelance trumpeter, Nick has performed in a variety of musical ensembles, from brass quintets to the Denver Philharmonic.
The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra is currently in its 107th season. The GPOA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission statement “Inspiring and enriching our community through symphonic music.”
