• If stretched out, a standard trumpet would be nearly 5 feet long 

• Trumpets can be traced back to 1500 BC 

• The world's longest playable trumpet is over 104 feet long 

• There is a strong relationship between trumpets and royalty, and trumpets have often been used to announce the presence of kings and queens 

• Early trumpets did not have valves and were twice as long as modern trumpets
