Dear Music Lovers and Friends of Dr. Galen Darrough and the Greeley Philharmonic:

There are experiences and people that touch our lives in special ways creating memories that last a lifetime.  We know you may have sung or had a connection with a Choral group led by Dr. Galen Darrough and that you may have experienced one of those cherished memories.

Dr. Darrough has conducted Choral groups all over the U.S., Canada and abroad during his 40+ year career and he is soon retiring from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) as Director of Choral Activities.  If you have been touched by Dr Darrough’s passion for choral music, his wonderful stories or his well-known Darrough’isms, we invite you to honor his many contribution to choral music by supporting the Dr. Darrough Dream enDowment, being created by the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra (GPO).  One of Galen Darrough’s important contributions to Greeley’s musical legacy has been his unwavering support of the musical collaborations between UNC and the GPO.

The GPO would like to honor this enduring partnership by creating a special endowment in his name that will support annual opportunities for UNC staff and students to perform with the orchestra and be paid as professional soloists.  This is the dream, sharing UNC’s vocal talent with our community in the Union Colony Civic Center, accompanied by the excellence of the Greeley Philharmonic.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to create a proper endowment, using annual investment returns to contract performances with UNC talent, therefore keeping this partnership alive in perpetuity.

Your generosity will make this possible! We thank you in advance for being a part of this campaign and the future opportunities for blossoming UNC performers and the GPO.  Thank you very much!

The Greeley Philharmonic Board of Directors
